Anyone looking at this Mid Archaic Axe, if it simply doesn't scream "real" in giant letters, I'm at a loss. Seriously, though, the Three-Quarter Groove is granite, some plow scrapes, shape, form, size...and the fact that old Norman Reid, Indiana Hill Museum in Bone Gap, Illinois, never bothered to wash the piece--still has field dite after thirty or forty years in his private museum.. Sure, I can wash it, but that honor should actually go to the next owner, I think--I'm just its 'caretaker" (for however long I own the piece). Whether it's twenty years or twenty days, I get the chance to handle some neat rocks--that's neat. This Edwards or Wabash County, Illinois Axe measures 3&1/4" by 2&1/2", thickest on the heel where my caliper just barely reaches 1&1/2". If the pictures don't show it, the bit is great, crisp edge, virtually un damaged--and the bit area strongly polished. This one fits my definition of "nice piece of stone", lifetime guaranteed real. Shipping to be by Priority Mail due to weight, $11.00 Checks or M.O.s are the accepted payment forms--Roy A.
