A fine Indiana Turkey Tail, Dubois or Spencer County--I couldn't pin the finder down too specifically on which creek produced this Late Archaic point--not hard to guess why, if there are more, he wants to be the only one in that creek. The point has been in my collection for some time now. Length is 3&5/16" by 1&3/16", 3/8" at the single thickest measure. The flint is a grade of hornstone, but a lighter shade than the typical Harrison County (Wyandotte Chert), more banding. The bottom of the base shows a type fracturing to remove the sharp base-point most turkey Tails have--make the knife easier to haft. Damage: a 1/32" is off the very tip, the needle point nicked--same is true on one barb, a very slight end chip, but part of the blades history.. One note--I don't know if the finder tried to write some provenance on the stem, but it's so faded it's not legible. Patination is good, authentic in every detail. Shipping is $5.00, checks or M.O.s welcomed, but paypal not taken--Roy A.
