A Jersey County, western Illinois Dovetail made of a banded flint that's at least three tones. The more examples I see, the more I've become convinced the flint is a banded form of Illinois Avon Flint. Length is 2&5/16" by 1&5/16"--basal grinding is exceltionally heavy. Multiple sharpenings of the blade left fine beveled edges. There is slight wear on the tid e of the tip, also a chip on the one barb. My thinking is the fine banding makes up for any slight (ancient) damage. Every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic, period. Shipping is $6.00 with checks welcomed--Roy A.
