Here is perhaps the nicest deaccessioned lanceolate I have ever acquired from the Museum of Native American History. Found in the Ozarks region of Western Arkansas, this Packard displays all the attributes common with that form. The medium size blade is somewhat thick, with a diamond-shaped cross section. Flaking is collateral to the median ridge on both faces, and the lateral edges and tip are well-sharpened and intact. The stem base is ground, and the basal edge is slightly convex. There is very light caliche mineralization on both faces. Truly an outstanding lanceolate blade to highlight your Southern Central frame!
