Up for sale is a rather odd shaped grooved axe....it has a bit of a twist to it. The groove covers about 3/4 of the axe. The bit is blunted. There is a small chip out of the back of the axe. This is artifact has a great ownership history. This was recovered from Newell in Hancock county West Virginia by John Rose. It measures 4 5/8" long x 2 3/4" wide. There are noticeable deposits of mineralization and patina throughout, so rest assured of its authenticity.
