Up for your consideration is this Natural authentic Columbia Plateau projectile point. (Arrowhead). This is the lasted of the old time collection for sale. Most was found by us in the 40's-60's. I'M A PROFESSIONAL retired Anthropologist/Archaeologist. I have over 6 1/2 years of University Studies in Columbia River Ancient culture. I begun collecting when I was 7 or 8 years old. in 1948. That means about 70 years experience. Found on the banks of the Columbia River, near the present day Priest Rapids Dam south of Vantage, WA. On state route 243 between Mattawa, WA. and the Venetia Bridge in South Central Washington State. Who found this artifacts is unknown, but it looks like the type of points found in the Jagger Island, (Also spelling, Yaegger, and Yeager Island), or The Figure Two Ranch, and down the Columbia River to the Tri-Cities area. The material is agatized petrified wood, common to this area of the Mid Columbia. This type of Chalcedony agate is common within Volcanic, Miocene Geological era. Grading on this point it is about a 7.5. No flat spots on either side and only a curve and a small ding to the base. Very nice moiling of the petrified wood. The Age and type of point by using professional standards is from the Professional classifications of about 200 before present, (BP).
