Up for your consideration is this Natural authentic Great Basin Paleo, Humboldt projectile point or Dart. Who found this artifact is unknown, but it looks like the type of points found in Southwest Oregon. The material is Obsidian found locally in the Miocene Basalt flows near where found.. This is a common form of Obsidian from Glass Buttes about 50 miles to the North. From the Volcanic, Miocene Geological era. Grading on this point is a grade 9.5. Has no flat spots on either sided, no nicks, dings, or broken parts. This Dart shows lots of edge grinding on both edges. This dart was manufactured as you see. Show lots of weathering from wind and water storms.

The Age and type of point by using professional standards is from the Professional classifications of Before Present, (BP). Age is about 6,500 years to 8,000 BP. Classification, is Great Basin, Humboldt Phase, variant. If it was found north about 150 miles this would have been a "Windust" Variant Phase I. Sorry, but we do not use Robert Overstreet's Publications. We don't intend to say negatives about Overstreet, only that they need to use more professional information from Universities and establish modern museum. Not personals with personal interest in seeing their artifacts used in their publication to enhance their value. Remember, we are professionals; we use science and published reports to make our grading, authentication and real time in professional field schools. We do not use Dealers who claim to know about the Great Basin, when in fact they have never saw the Great Basin. If you want photos of all the frames we are asking $ 300.00 for a color binder with those separate frames. If you want photos of the entire collection we ask $ 350.00 for those photos on hard Photo paper. The paper and ink is worth the $ 300.00. Please, again be respectful of our privacy.
