A Paleo purchased for my collection at a Kentucky Lake Artifact Show a quarter century back, whether the lance is from Illinois (more likely) or Missouri, that info is long lost.. The Beaver Lake is made of a Burlington chert 3&3/16" by just under 1"--medial ridge thickness is 3/8". Lateral and basal grinding is excellent, multiple basal thinning flakes. The usage chip to one auricle is ancient, polished over by the Paleo hunter. Either the finder or a later collector inked-in catalog numbering, consider it permanent, you don't remove ink from flint. On the more deeply mineralized side the tip flaking is transverse parallel, but that's the only area where diagonal flaking was used. Great patination, excellent workmanship, every detail is lifetime guaranteed authentic. Shipping is free, and payment to be by either check or money order--Roy A.
