This is an Authentic Prehistoric Native American Indian Earthenware Bowl. It was one of a very limited number of pottery items sold at the late Jerry Chubbuck's Native American Indian Artifacts Auction. In total there were approximately 8-12 pottery items auctioned which were authentic and in good condition.
Overall: This is a beautiful, colorful, Earthenware bowl, well used and clearly authentic Native American Indian.
Dimensions: The bowl is approximatly 9.25" in diameter.
Period/Provenance: Likely Mississippian Period (800A.D. to 1550 A.D.). Unknown Provenance.
Design: Large round bowl with uniform exterior vertical manmade markings and smooth fire black interior.
Colors: The exterior of the bowl is red/brown earthenware and the interior is fired black. There is some exterior fire black marks as can be seen in the photographs.
