This is a pair of early Plains Indian Moccasins. It is believed to be Sioux and date around 1870. They are made entirely sinew sewn antelope hide.. They are very stiff and at some point they had what looks like a leather softener applied to them. They do not show any signs of being worn or used. They measure 11 long and 3 1/2" across at the ball of the foot. Very rich deep cobalt blue with white and a few green seed beads over all except where missing.
