A cast of a Redstone projectile point. A north American Paleoindian point dating around 10,000 years ago along the Eastern United States. Molded and cast from the authentic original in 2013, found in Alabama. Redstones were named after the Redstone Arsenal in Madison County, AL. The range is not much larger than Alabama and Tennessee, with many resharpened classic Clovis being mistaken for Redstones. This fine example measures 2 and 1/4th inches long and the original was made of Dover chert. The original was brought to the Smithsonian's Paleoindian lab to be examined, and found to be a great authentic example of this rare type, where the first cast remains in the collections there as a reference of the type. (COA Stermer 2009) ex. Zonnie Mitchel Collection
